Menu design for a Chinese buffet restaurant located in Edmond Oklahoma.
Readability is one of my biggest problems with most menu designs. Why do I have to follow a dotted line across the page to see what the price is? How is that the best solution? Why not simply put those two things next to each other?
My goal with this menu was to visually capture the character of the business, as well as make scanning and reading easy for the viewer. No following a dotted line with your finger. Everything is next to each other. Everything is sectioned off and called out by bold colorful titles. It’s easy to read, quick to scan, and looks like a Chinese menu. I even oriented it vertically to mimic old Chinese scrolls. Oh, and it has a map that is easy to follow.
Side Note: I love Chinese buffets. They have a little of everything, even that weird meat on a stick. I think it’s duck. Whatever, it’s delicious.
